Wash Your Face Already!
There are many ways to remove your makeup. It comes down to what your actual skincare practice is that you have which will determine which of those methods you’ll use, and how often. What you choose to use within your regimen can often be a double duty product or specific to just makeup removal.
I am going to help shed some light on how you’ll narrow down the decision on how it would be best to remove your makeup. If you were like me, and sometimes you really just have moments where you don't feel like washing your face and washing off the makeup from your day, you could definitely use makeup wipes.
I will say, I'm not a fan of just using a makeup wipe. It does work in an emergency though. If I do use a makeup wipe, I still prefer to wash my face afterwards. Makeup wipes are sufficient enough to remove all makeup, dirt, oil, and debris from your face after you're done with your look for the day. 9 times out of 10 you will have to use more than one wipe, depending on how much makeup you have on, especially if you did a full face for the day. I would say anywhere from one to three depending on how much makeup.
We can discuss some great options to choose from at a later time. This is really just about me shedding light on all the ways you can get a really nice clean face once you’re done with your look for the day.
Another option would be to use an actual makeup remover. You could get a liquid makeup remover or a cream like cleanser. Think along the lines of something gentle like a lotion. Be sure to use this with a cotton ball, that is also very gentle in removing makeup. Especially waterproof eye makeup and makeup around the eye area in general. The wipes and in this instance, are a bit more abrasive but rule of thumb just be gentle with your face, and how you apply and remove your products.
The next option that I am a big fan of are cleansing balms and cleansing oils. You would basically, apply the product directly to your skin without water. Some of them say, you know, add water afterwards, I personally like to add a few drops of water just to kind of get a bit of a smooth lather going. With most of the balms, as well as cleansing oils, you can apply it directly to your face. Whether you put it into your hand and rub together and apply it to your face. or you just scoop it out and apply it directly on your face. You can add a little bit of water to create a lather. Each product is different but they often do create a smooth like milky like texture and you would just need to rinse well with warm water.
In a perfect world that could be a one step process. If you're like me, I do still use an actual face wash after I use a cleansing balm and cleansing oil most times. It's really a matter of preference. There is one particular cleansing balm that creates a really really nice lather, so that I don't actually have to use another face wash after it. I'll share some options via my Amazon Beauty List of items.
I leave with hopes that you'll explore some other products and find what works best for you! Until next time, be well, stay safe, and do your best to be loving.
